MTC Marine Training Center Hamburg GmbH will provide comprehensive training facilities for mariners from 2008

As from 2008 marine training for navigators and engineers will resume in Hamburg. MTC Marine Training Center Hamburg will provide training for officers, masters and engineers serving on ships, using state of the art shiphandling, engine and cargo simulators. Courses offered will include navigation classes and technical training and much more. In addition to the shiphandling simulator  MTC will also install an engine simulator, a simulator for GMDSS and a liquid cargo simulator for the education of oil and gas tanker crews.

Rickmers Reederei is one of the shareholders of MTC Marine Training Center Hamburg GmbH. Further shareholders are Orion Bulkers, DS Schiffahrt and Marlow Navigation, MAN Diesel, Germanischer Lloyd, Pilots Associations from River Elbe, Port of Hamburg and Kiel Canal, Fortbildungszentrum Hafen Hamburg e.V. (FZH) and private investors as well as SAM Electronics as a cooperation partner.
